Leasing Consultant / Property Management Assistant
Apartment Community – Sealy, Texas
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and motivated Leasing Consultant / Property Management Assistant to join our apartment community in Sealy, Texas.
This position combines leasing, resident communication, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and general property-management support. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, comfortable handling resident concerns, and able to follow through on issues from initial request through resolution.
Compensation
$18.00–$20.00 per hour base pay
+ $150 for each successful new move-in
+ $100 for each successful lease renewal
Additional performance-based bonuses may be available based on property goals and overall performance.
Primary ResponsibilitiesLeasing & Prospective Residents
- Respond promptly to phone, online, and walk-in leasing inquiries
- Follow up with prospective residents and leasing leads
- Schedule and conduct apartment tours
- Explain available units, pricing, lease terms, deposits, and community policies
- Assist applicants through the application and approval process
- Prepare lease documents and move-in paperwork
- Coordinate resident move-ins
- Maintain accurate prospect and leasing records
- Follow up consistently with prospects to help maintain strong occupancy
Resident Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for current residents
- Respond professionally to resident questions, concerns, and requests
- Communicate lease and community information clearly
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents
- Follow up with residents to ensure concerns and requests are appropriately addressed
Maintenance Coordination
- Receive maintenance and repair requests from residents by phone, email, text, or in person
- Document maintenance requests accurately and promptly
- Communicate repair requests and priorities to the maintenance team
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding unit access and scheduling
- Track open maintenance requests and follow up to ensure repairs are completed
- Communicate repair status and scheduling updates to residents
- Follow up with residents after repairs when appropriate to confirm the issue has been resolved
- Notify property management of urgent, recurring, or unresolved maintenance concerns
Rent Collection & Account Support
- Collect monthly rent and other resident payments
- Process and document payments according to company procedures
- Provide residents with payment information and instructions
- Communicate with residents regarding rent due dates and outstanding balances
- Follow up on past-due accounts
- Maintain accurate records of resident payment communications
- Notify management of delinquent accounts or payment issues requiring additional action
Lease Renewals
- Monitor upcoming lease expirations
- Contact residents regarding renewal options
- Prepare and process lease-renewal paperwork
- Follow up with residents regarding renewal decisions
- Help support resident retention and minimize unnecessary vacancies
Administrative & Property Support
- Maintain organized resident, leasing, maintenance, and property records
- Answer phones and manage routine office communications
- Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming leasing office
- Assist property management with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Communicate effectively with residents, maintenance personnel, vendors, and management
- Help identify issues affecting resident satisfaction, occupancy, collections, or property operations
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and follow through until resolution

- Detail-oriented with applications, leases, payments, and resident records
- Comfortable using computers, email, property-management software, and online communication systems
- Sales-oriented and comfortable asking prospective residents to lease
- Able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling resident information
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus
Previous apartment leasing or property-management experience is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with strong experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, real estate, banking, office administration, medical-office administration, or another customer-facing position.
Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position Focus
This role is an important connection between residents, prospective residents, maintenance, and property management.
The employee will be expected to take ownership of resident communications — including leasing inquiries, maintenance requests, rent payments, renewals, and routine resident concerns — and make sure matters are properly documented, communicated, and followed through.
The position will assist with rent collection and past-due account communication, but management will retain responsibility for higher-level collection decisions, legal notices, evictions, accounting reconciliation, and other management-level financial matters unless otherwise assigned.
