Excavation Foreman
Tenco Construction LLC*is seeking an experienced Excavation Foreman to lead field crews on residential, commercial, municipal, state, and government excavation projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing crews, coordinating daily operations, reading plans, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of excavation crews.
* Manage excavation projects including foundations, basements, utilities, septic systems, drainage, grading, and site development.
* Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grades, and specifications.
* Coordinate equipment, trucking, materials, and subcontractors.
* Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
* Communicate with project managers, inspectors, contractors, and property owners.
* Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
* Troubleshoot jobsite issues and maintain project schedules.
* Complete daily reports and project documentation.
* Train and mentor operators and laborers.
* Assist with equipment operation when needed.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of excavation and site development experience.
* Previous foreman or supervisory experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, underground utilities, and earthwork.
* Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
* Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
* CDL preferred but not required.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
