We are seeking skilled Maintenance Engineering Technicians to support the reliability and performance of a highly automated laboratory environment. In this hands-on contract role, you will help maximize instrument uptime by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, maintaining calibration records, and supporting laboratory operations. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with experience maintaining scientific, analytical, or automated laboratory equipment.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on laboratory instrumentation following standard operating procedures and manufacturer specifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and service records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Perform instrument calibrations and assist with Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities.
Respond to equipment alarms, failures, and performance issues, completing routine repairs and escalating complex issues to engineering teams when necessary.
Document repairs, maintenance activities, equipment failures, and corrective actions.
Coordinate service visits with equipment vendors and maintain spare parts inventory for critical laboratory instruments.
Monitor equipment reliability by tracking downtime and identifying recurring maintenance trends.
Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures, work instructions, and preventative maintenance programs.
Collaborate with laboratory operations, research teams, and engineering personnel to ensure maximum equipment availability.
Hands-on experience maintaining laboratory, analytical, or biological research equipment.
Experience with one or more of the following equipment:
Automated liquid handlers (Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman)
Plate readers (BioTek, Molecular Devices, BMG)
PCR/qPCR systems
Automated cell culture platforms
Flow cytometers
Imaging systems
Knowledge of pipetting system calibration, fluidics troubleshooting, optical systems, and laboratory equipment preventive maintenance.
Familiarity with biological laboratory safety practices and containment procedures.
Strong documentation skills and experience using a CMMS.
Maintenance Engineering Technician I
1+ year of hands-on maintenance experience supporting laboratory, clinical, research, or manufacturing equipment.
Maintenance Engineering Technician II
Experience with CMMS platforms such as Maximo, eMaint, MaintainX, or Fiix.
Experience performing or supporting IQ/OQ/PQ activities in regulated laboratory environments (GxP, ISO, or similar).
Vendor coordination and service contract management experience.
Experience supporting robotic automation systems or integrated laboratory workcells.
Ability to support shift-based operations in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Competitive pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
