Battle Creek Timber is seeking a dedicated and skilled Service truck Mechanic to join our team. If you have a passion for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring safety, and keeping operations running smoothly, we want to hear from you.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on logging equipment, including skidders, loaders, and trucks. (John Deere, CAT, Tigercat)
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and identify mechanical issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Collaborate with the Shop Forman and management team to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Safely operate tools and equipment while following company safety protocols and cleanliness.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Service Mechanic or similar role, preferably in the logging industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
-Proficient in welding and fabricating.
-Must supply own tools (service truck Positition)
