Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or assemble heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Maintain and service a variety of equipment including cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailer trucks, and farm machinery to maximize uptime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as tire service, alignment checks, brake repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Read and interpret schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components to perform precise repairs or modifications.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance needs.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Service Technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools such as wrenches, soldering irons, welding machines, power tools, and diagnostic scanners.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers; ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow detailed repair procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach; able to communicate technical information effectively.
