Manufacturing Process Engineer (Entry-Level / Recent Graduate)

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated recent college graduate with an engineering degree to support the development and improvement of manufacturing process documentation and work instructions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, technical writing, process improvement, and collaborating with production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing operations.
This person will work closely with engineering, quality, and production personnel to document manufacturing procedures, create visual work instructions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe manufacturing operations and document step-by-step assembly or production processes

Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing process instructions (MPIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using photos, diagrams, and process flow charts

Collaborate with production operators, technicians, quality, and engineering teams to improve process clarity and efficiency

Assist with process validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects

Ensure manufacturing documentation complies with quality and safety standards

Assist in time studies, line balancing, and workflow analysis

Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities as needed
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related engineering field

Recent graduate or 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to translate technical processes into clear instructions

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing drawings preferred

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing or production environments

Experience creating technical documentation or process flows

Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts

Basic understanding of quality systems and manufacturing safety practices
