Supervising Custodian Hourly Salary Range: $28.25- $34.85
Anticipated Hourly Salary: $28.25

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Supervising Custodian plans, organizes, trains, and directs the work of a group of custodial employees in assigned areas in and around court facilities. The position regularly inspects work locations to ensure proper safety, care, and cleaning are in compliance with laws, rules, and regulations. The Supervising Custodian reports to the Custodial Manager or other higher-level management staff. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and training of custodian crews, along with ensuring proper safety, care, and cleaning of court facilities.
Duties for the classification may include, but are not limited to:
Plans, organizes, and supervises a comprehensive program of custodial maintenance to accomplish a high degree of cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation in and around work areas and court facilities.
Schedules, assigns, inspects, and evaluates the work of the custodial crews; manages employee performance through performance evaluations, employee recognition, counseling, and/or disciplinary action.
Regularly inspects facilities to review work for conformance to standards of cleanliness and orderliness and employee compliance with safety regulations; initiates action to have discrepancies corrected by custodial staff; and develops and supervises schedules for deep cleaning and special projects.
Reports unsafe conditions and items requiring repair, maintenance, or replacement.
Plans and directs a program of training for custodial personnel to include on-the-job training, safety training, and other in-service court-specific training; ensures training reviews proper cleaning techniques and use of equipment.
Reviews and/or prepares supply and equipment requisitions and work orders.
Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates employee performance; communicates expectations, monitors performance, and completes and conducts performance appraisals; provides coaching for performance improvement and development when necessary; recommends and issues corrective and/or disciplinary action to address performance or conduct issues, in accordance with Court personnel practices, policies and labor contract provisions; reviews, supports, and approves medical accommodations in partnership with Human Resources, and recommends merit increases based on established protocols.
When needed, acts as a working supervisor to perform custodial duties in support of peak workloads, unit needs, or special projects; provides guidance and oversight to staff while actively participating in unit tasks and operations.
