As a Director of Clinical Services/RN, here is a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Oversee the delivery of clinical and caregiver services, ensuring the highest quality of patient/client care in accordance with home health and hospice laws and regulatory standards
- Coordinate and manage a team of nurses, therapists, CNAs, aides and social workers to ensure client and patient goals are met
- Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise and retain qualified clinicians and caregivers
- Ensure medical supplies/equipment are delivered and staff are trained on care procedures
- Assess patient/client needs, resolve issues, and ensure a high level of satisfaction
- Effectively manage financial resources related to the delivery of quality patient/client care
A few must-haves for a Director of Clinical Services/RN:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in CA with a Bachelors (or higher) degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in home healthcare, primary care, or a health facility, including at least 1 year in a supervisory/administrative role (within the last 5 years) or RN with 4 years of experience (within the last 5 years) in those settings, including at least 1 year in a supervisory/administrative role
- The DCS (or RN designee) must be on-site or immediately accessible by telecommunications during operating hours when patients are receiving services
- CPR certification, Criminal Background Check, Physical, TB Test and Drug Screen
- The DCS must have appropriate clinical expertise and participate in Quality Management/QAPI activities and oversight
- The role must dedicate sufficient hours to ensure quality, adequacy, and supervision of patient care services
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal home health laws and regulatory standards
- Excellent management, organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
