Job Overview
Seeking a self motivate indiividual to run our Thirft Shop to support the Red House Recovery effort, where your enthusiasm and customer-focused mindset will drive exceptional shopping experiences. You will be the friendly face that assists customers with their purchases, manages sales transactions, and ensures the store remains organized and inviting. Your proactive approach will help boost sales through upselling and product demos, while maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your retail skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, providing outstanding customer service and answering inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Operate the cash register (POS system), handle cash transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer balancing at shift end
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and sales
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and organizing products to maximize visual appeal and accessibility
- Take in donations and sort through and display items
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, assisting with stock replenishment.
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in a cashiering or customer service role
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Familiarity with retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and clearly
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising principles to enhance product presentation
- Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities responsibly while maintaining attention to detail
