Spark Place | Jersey City Heights
Spark Place is a creative indoor play space and community hub for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. We are seeking an energetic, warm, and dependable Part-Time Toddler Class Instructor to join our growing team and lead engaging classes 2–3 times per week.
About the Role
As a Part-Time Instructor, you will guide children from infancy through preschool age, along with their caregivers, in a variety of interactive classes including music and movement, sensory exploration, cooking, art, STEM activities, and storytime. You will help create memorable experiences while building meaningful relationships with families and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging 30–45 minute classes for children ages newborn to 4 years and their caregivers
- Facilitate classes including music & movement, sensory play, cooking, arts & crafts, storytime, and exploration-based activities
- Create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children and families
- Engage with families in a friendly, personable, and professional manner
- Assist with class setup, cleanup, and maintaining a positive studio experience
- Collaborate on new class ideas, seasonal events, and curriculum improvements
- Help create an exceptional experience that encourages families to return and become part of our community
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and supporting families throughout their visit
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a classroom, childcare, camp, enrichment, or similar setting
- Experience leading or assisting group activities for young children
- A genuine love for working with children and their caregivers
- Confident, outgoing, energetic, and comfortable leading groups
- Kind, warm demeanor and highly dependable work ethic
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for helping Spark Place grow
- Creative, adaptable, and eager to learn new activities and curriculum
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, but not required
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-Time
- 2–3 days per week
- Flexible weekday and occasional weekend availability
