Job Summary
The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of our establishment, ensuring that we deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards in food quality and safety. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage staff, oversee daily operations, and contribute to the strategic goals of the restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service management, with experience in both casual and fine dining environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to ensure a high-performing team.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards.
- Handle cash management and POS transactions accurately, including Aloha POS and Micros POS systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory control to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving complaints effectively.
- Conduct interviews for new hires and participate in staff evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to optimize food production and presentation.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a quick service or fast food environment.
- Strong background in food preparation, culinary skills, and kitchen management.
- Experience with cash handling and POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS preferred).
- Knowledge of inventory control processes and food safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team management and staff training & development.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
- Experience in fine dining, casual dining, banquet services, or catering is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
