POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Recreation Specialist (Adult Sports Volleyball)
The Recreation Specialist (Adult Sports Volleyball) is responsible for the coordination, organization, scheduling, and supervision of the adult sports competitive volleyball league that is held on Wednesday evenings, potentially Thursdays. This position will work out of the Centennial Recreation Center.
SALARY
The salary range for this position is $24.00 to $27.00 per hour. This is a part-time non-benefited position.
SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position that will work roughly 4-5 hours a week. Applicants must be available to work Wednesday evenings, potentially Thursdays from roughly 5pm-10pm.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be screened, and those applicants determined to have the best experience, skills, and qualifications will be invited for an oral interview. Prior to appointment, applicant must authorize a reference check.
As a condition of employment, a background check must be completed, including fingerprinting for submission to the Department of Justice.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Coordinates, organizes, supervises and evaluates competitive volleyball sports programs.

Manage day-to-day tasks related to the operation of sports programs, including, but not limited to program registration, schedules, coordinating and communicating with officials and participants, enforcing rules and policies, and resolving customer concerns.

Assist with marketing of sports programs.

Provides exemplary customer service to and communicates with program participants regarding programs.

Resolve customer issues in a professional manner with a customer first focus while adhering to policies and procedures.

Communicate with management regarding issues, incidents or injuries that may occur.

Respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.

Provides support to their supervisor on a variety of assignments.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Ensure the overall safety of all program areas.
Must be able to work independently, often with limited supervision or direction; adhere to safety procedures, practices, and policies of the facilities and the City of Morgan Hill; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
