Freight Agent – Load-Out ShipmentsOverview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Agent specializing in load-out shipments to join our growing logistics team. The ideal candidate will have an established book of business and a strong network of customers requiring load-out transportation services.
This role is focused on developing new business, managing customer relationships, and coordinating reliable transportation solutions for load-out shipments. The position is commission-based, offering significant earning potential based on performance and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage business specifically related to load-out shipments.
- Generate new customers and grow an existing book of business.
- Maintain and expand strong relationships with customers and carriers.
- Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring reliable and timely service.
- Obtain and negotiate competitive transportation rates.
- Work closely with carriers to secure capacity and appropriate equipment for load-out shipments.
- Monitor shipments and proactively address any delays or service issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Utilize transportation management software to manage shipments, rates, and customer accounts.
- Collaborate with internal operations and accounting teams to ensure smooth shipment execution and billing.
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue and expand the customer base.
Requirements
- Proven experience handling load-out shipments is strongly preferred.
- Established book of business with customers requiring load-out transportation.
- Experience in freight brokerage, transportation sales, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of the LTL/FTL transportation industry.
- Established relationships with carriers and transportation providers.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments and customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with transportation management and logistics software.
- Self-motivated and driven to grow a profitable book of business.
Compensation
Commission-based compensation with significant earning potential based on the volume and profitability of the business generated.
