Position Summary
Independence Pathway is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly organized Part-Time Nonprofit Director.
This is a hands-on position focused primarily on participant engagement, program coordination, resource connection, documentation, and community partnerships. The Nonprofit Director will work directly with our young adults while maintaining regular communication with the Board of Directors.
Financial management, board governance, major fundraising efforts, grant leadership, property management, and emergency or after-hours participant needs will remain under the direction of the Board.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop consistent, supportive relationships with residential and nonresidential participants.
- Maintain regular contact with participants and help them work toward individualized goals.
- Support goals involving employment, education, budgeting, transportation, housing, life skills, and personal development.
- Reinforce program agreements, expectations, and accountability in a compassionate but consistent manner.
- Connect participants with appropriate community programs, services, and resources.
- Coordinate life-skills workshops, community activities, and other required program opportunities.
- Assist with participant intake, move-ins, welcome kits, transitions, and exits.
- Track participant goals, referrals, attendance, needs, progress, and program outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records.
- Recruit and coordinate mentors, volunteers, speakers, and community resource partners.
- Identify participant or household concerns and promptly communicate them to the appropriate board contact.
- Represent Independence Pathway professionally at selected meetings and community events.
- Provide regular program updates and a concise monthly report to the Board of Directors.
- Attend scheduled board meetings.
- Support board-led grants, fundraising, events, outreach, and social media efforts as requested.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young adults or another population requiring support, guidance, and accountability
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Dependable follow-through and attention to detail
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication
- Ability to build trust while maintaining healthy professional boundaries
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the Board
- Comfortable addressing missed expectations and difficult situations calmly and respectfully
- Basic proficiency with email, shared documents, spreadsheets, calendars, and other common technology
- Reliable transportation
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend activities
- Ability to pass background screening

Schedule and Work Arrangement
- Part-time, approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Hours may vary weekly depending on participant and program needs
- Flexible combination of administrative work, participant meetings, community visits, and scheduled events
- Some evening or weekend availability
Compensation
- Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
- Opportunity for increased hours and compensation as the organization grows and funding allows
- Part-time, hourly position
