Position Description
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for conducting radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients.
Job Responsibilities
· Completes X-Rays for approximately 100 patients per day.
· Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
· Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
· Positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.
· Monitors, records, and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
· Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
· Orients and mentors new staff members.
· Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
· Provides a safe environment for patient care.
· Assists with transporting patients.
· Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
· Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of computers as we are a chartless office, using Allscripts PM and Exscribe EHR system a plus
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail-oriented and a team-player
- Possess a positive attitude, self-starter with good customer service focus
- Ability to multi task and solve problems
Education/Experience
- ARRT Certification required
- Current Florida license
- CPR certified
- At least one year experience in an Orthopaedic setting
- Must have experience working in a busy doctor's office
