Duties
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, utilizing transportation management systems such as McLeod Software System.
- Monitor Verizon GPS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, brokers, and customers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear messaging.
- Enter data accurately into transportation management systems, including shipping & receiving logs, fleet management records, and freight details.
- Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot routing issues, resolve delays, and adjust plans proactively for maximum efficiency.
- Manage shipping schedules using McLeod Software, ensuring compliance with delivery windows and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight movements and resolve any issues swiftly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transportation dispatching or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as McLeod Software Systems.
- Familiarity with GPS, GIS technology, fleet management tools, and transportation planning principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple phone lines professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization, problem-solving, and data entry accuracy.
- Proficiency in typing quickly and accurately; experience with McLeod Software systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination is a plus.
