Chemist I of Quality Control reports to the Manager or Supervisor of Quality Control. The Quality Control Chemist I is responsible for performing basic analytical testing while under the direction of senior-level chemists and Laboratory Management. This role focuses on fundamental laboratory support and data integrity to ensure the seamless flow of samples.
Core Responsibilities: Routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products (including compendial testing USP/NF, data evaluation, and OOS investigations).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of The Position
- Adhere to all relevant Gemini standard operating procedures and cGMPs.
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and stability samples.
- Conduct sample preparation, sample log-in, and the preparation of solutions.
- Execute disintegration testing and perform glassware maintenance.
- Perform accurate data entry and the review of laboratory notebooks and releases.
- Maintain a culture of "Grit" and "Excellence" by eliminating manual redundancies in daily tasks.
- Should be able to wear a filtering facepiece (dusk mask, surgical mask, respirator) throughout the day when required
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of BS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Biology or related science degree
- Computer proficiency Word, Access, Excel
- Strong mathematical competence
- Ability to perform in a laboratory setting working with supervision for all routine procedures
- Ability to use measured and gathered information for making decisions or judgments with supervision
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, twist, and squat
- Must have good vision, aided by glasses if necessary
- Must successfully pass the Color-Blind Test as (normal color vision)
Technical Requirements: Proficiency in UV/Vis, FTIR, HPLC, and ICP-MS instrumentation
