American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a busy 46-bed surgical unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active MI RN license.

Work on a 46-bed surgical unit (4N) within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes trauma surgery, post bariatric surgery, post abdominal surgery, post amputation surgery, and urological cases, with occasional medical and cardiac overflow
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, with potential increases to 1:7 during call-ins

Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Every other weekend required

Every other holiday coverage required

No on-call requirements

Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census

Uses Cerner charting system

Active MI RN license required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Cerner charting system experience required

Must be comfortable with fluctuating patient ratios up to 1:7

Provide direct patient care to a surgical and overflow medical/cardiac patient population

New travelers are actively being onboarded to help manage workload during call-ins

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates not accepted; travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holidays

Previous travelers must have completed at least 3 years since their last assignment before returning

Up to 8 hours of self-reported training modules should be completed within 1 week of signing, preferably before start date

Professional conduct standards are strictly enforced, with unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs potentially resulting in immediate contract termination
