Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various departments, including critical care units, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and neonatal services. Your expertise will support patient recovery, ensure optimal respiratory function, and assist in emergency situations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of respiratory physiology, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ respiratory status by evaluating vital signs, blood gases, and physical examinations to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration while monitoring patient responses.
- Manage and operate advanced respiratory equipment including ventilators, nebulizers, and other respiratory devices with precision.
- Perform airway management procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques in emergency and routine situations.
- Respond effectively to cardiac arrest emergencies by providing advanced airway management and life support interventions.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care settings such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), neonatal units, and trauma centers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Conduct patient assessments focusing on pulmonary function and anatomy knowledge to inform treatment strategies.
- Participate in ongoing training related to hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and specialized areas such as neonatology or geriatrics.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards for medical equipment operation and infection control.
MUST HAVE:
- Minimum 2 years current RRT experience
- ACLS
- BLS
- Respiratory License
