Job Summary:
MJ Iron Works is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components using various welding techniques. This position requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Set up welding machines and select appropriate materials and tools for each project.
- Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Inspect and test welded components to ensure structural integrity and adherence to specifications.
- Operate hand and power tools, grinders, and cutting equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical school training preferred.
- Certification in welding (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a welder, with proficiency in multiple welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of metals, welding techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
