Position Description:
Purpose
The Autonomous Vehicle Technician Supervisor is responsible for delivery of all Autonomous Vehicle Technician Services to meet client’s Service Levels, and supervisors a team of Vehicle Maintenance and Autonomous Vehicle Technicians
Essential Functions*
- Oversee vehicle maintenance protocols and SOPs to meet client’s Service Levels and manage and coordinate all required maintenance activities.
- Serve as a single point of contact for various Personnel and client to provide feedback on vehicle repair status and/or ensure alignment on prioritization of open work orders to meet client’s Service Levels.
- Document report to deliver to client on required support, tools, or training to meet client’s Service Levels.
- Ensure materials function properly to meet client’s Service Levels.
- Adhere to SOP to maintain client IP is in a secured location with controlled access.
- Report regular/weekly updates on maintenance activities and status.
- Ensure maintenance plans enable TRC to meet client’s Service Levels.
- Propose and execute creative solutions to address unforeseen roadblocks. When appropriate, escalate to internal TRC management to meet client’s Service Levels
- Promote technical and operational excellence, and support TRC’s and client’s core values
- Foster a positive inclusive work environment and ensure adherence to TRC’s policies and adhere to client’s specifications to meet client’s Service Levels
- Manage client 6S organizational requirements and author best practices documentation for Technical Operations Services

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
- Report and documentation of cutting-edge technologic approach to meet client’s Service Levels Use internal proprietary tools to service and troubleshoot self-driving systems, components, and integrated sensor stacks to meet client’s Service Levels
- Diagnose OEM base vehicle systems and components using manufacturer-provided software and tools, specializing in CAN, LIN, and FlexRay.
- Deliver ad hoc services to complete tasks outside of established processes when necessary and propose creative solutions to unforeseen roadblocks.
- Provide remote field support, up to 25% of the time.
- Operate client self-driving vehicles as needed for the role Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts
Qualifications
- High school diploma required with seven years practical experience
- B.A, B.S. and / or an automotive technology degree preferred
- Prior experience as a shop lead / master technician
- Prior experience in an automotive research / development environment preferred
- Prior experience working with ADAS systems and / or other self-driving systems
- Strong diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems: high-level experience working with HV systems and hybrid drivetrains, CAN, Flexray, LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension
- Past supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Google document suites/programs
- Excellent overall computer skills
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- High level organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of self-motivation
- Observed leadership skills
- Ability to complete and pass all internal, position specific job and safety trainings required
- Valid state DMV issued or valid foreign country issued driver’s license
Working conditions
- May be exposed to temperatures below 0 degrees and above 95 degrees
- May be exposed to inclement weather
- May be exposed to working in enclosed or restrictive areas
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, such as gas, oil and paint

Physical requirements
- Capable of positioning one’s self into bending, stretching, climbing, or awkward positions
