· $33.76/hr ($61,443.20/year) - $35.45/hr ($64,515.36/year) (Non-bilingual)
· Differential for Bilingual skills ($1-3 per hour)
· Salary is dependent on licensure level and may include a bilingual differential

Position Summary
This position provides trauma-informed individual and group counseling to primary and/or secondary survivors of human trafficking (sex and/or labor), with a particular focus on serving children, adolescents, and young adults. The Counselor collaborates with clients, Regional Navigator Program staff, community providers, and internal teams to support survivor-centered care, safety, healing, and long-term recovery. This position requires a strong commitment to ethical practice and Heartly House’s mission to support survivors.

Key Responsibilities
· Provide weekly individual counseling sessions to primary and/or secondary survivors of human trafficking, with a particular focus on serving children, adolescents, and young adults
· Provide weekly group counseling sessions to primary and/or secondary survivors of human trafficking, with a particular focus on serving children, adolescents, and young adults
· Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans that support survivors’ goals
· Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions appropriate for complex trauma, exploitation, abuse, and victimization
· Provide flexible service delivery based on client needs, including in-person, virtual, and/or community- or school-based counseling
· Participate in clinical review of cases and present cases for review during team meetings
· Attend Human Trafficking Response Team (HTRT) meetings, as appropriate
· Participate in the planning, development, delivery, expansion, and evaluation of counseling services
· Maintain professional standards of conduct and practices in all aspects of direct client services
· Provide input into the counseling department strategic and operational plan
· Be available as needed for consultation with other departments regarding clients
· Provide appropriate referrals to clients to obtain additional needed services
· Ensure client records are up-to-date, complete, and accurately filed, and are closed, as needed
· Ensure client records are maintained in complete confidentiality and protection of client rights
· Understand and commit to the mission, values, and philosophy of Heartly House and the efforts to end intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse
· Complete other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Director

Required Qualifications
· Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or a PhD in Clinical Psychology with Maryland licensure in good standing
· Strong clinical background and skills, including individual and group facilitation skills
· Experience working with children and/or young adults
· Understanding of the dynamics of child and adult human trafficking
· Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Ability to effectively use computers, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and database software
· Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and priority setting ability

Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience working with primary and/or secondary survivors of human trafficking (sex and/or labor)
· Expertise in intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and/or child abuse
· Maryland licensure at the independent clinical level
· Spanish and/or ASL fluency
· Familiarity with SharePoint in Microsoft Suite

· Successful completion of all required Heartly House Learning Management System (LMS) courses upon hire
· Ongoing participation in continuing education and professional development
· Compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and certification requirements as outlined by Heartly House and relevant authorities
