Job Summary
Total Basement Finishing of WNY is seeking skilled and dependable Basement Finishing Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will transform unfinished basements into beautiful, functional living spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, works well in a team environment, communicates effectively with homeowners, and ensures projects are completed on time and to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation & Protection
- Prepare work areas by installing plastic barriers to control dust and paint overspray
- Protect customer flooring from the entry point to the basement
Framing
- Frame and build out walls to define rooms, windows, and doorways according to project drawings
- Install Fire blocking
Insulation
- Install insulation on all perimeter walls and rim joists as required
Wall Panels
- Install wall panels using proper caulking and fastening techniques
- Secure panels at top and bottom until batten strips are installed
Ceilings & Flooring
- Install suspended/drop ceilings or painted ceilings
- Install the company flooring system using the 3-2-1 pattern
Trim & Finishing Details
- Install baseboards, casing, and crown molding
- Install stair treads and risers; paint stringers as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with fire blocking and framing codes
Communication
- Maintain consistent communication with the Project Lead and Project Manager
Requirements
- 2–3 years of residential remodeling experience (basement finishing or general carpentry preferred)
- Must own basic hand tools
- Reliable transportation
Skills & Qualifications
- Carpentry and metal stud framing experience
- Experience installing suspended ceilings
- Spray painting experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Comfortable working in basement environments
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing rough-in layouts
- Knowledge of egress window installation and building codes (preferred)
- Drywall (mud, tape and sand)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
