Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher who has a personal relationship with Christ willing to inspire young learners and foster a love of education. What is God calling you to do? This energetic educator will create a vibrant classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching early childhood education, experience working with young children, and a commitment to nurturing each student’s unique learning journey. You will play a vital role in shaping the foundational skills that set students up for lifelong success.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and educational technology integration.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Monitor student progress regularly using student performance data analysis and standardized testing results to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum implementation, teaching strategies, and school-wide initiatives to enhance student outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents through parent-teacher conferences, updates on student progress, and addressing individual learning styles adaptability.
- Support students with special needs or those requiring early intervention by applying inclusive teaching practices and collaborating with specialists.
- Incorporate literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and library services into daily activities to promote well-rounded development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, or other educational approaches such as early childhood education or special education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or any field. Preferably education but all we require is the BA.
- Classroom experience in elementary school teaching, particularly with 2nd grade students would be helpful but not required.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and learning technology tools.
- Experience working with children with diverse learning needs. .
- Good communication skills for effective parent-teacher collaboration and student engagement.
- Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and monitor student progress through formative and informative assessments.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management best practices would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards, standardized testing procedures, and childhood development principles would be beneficial.
