Summary/Objective:
We are seeking an organized and customer-focused Benefits Specialist to handle day-to-day transactional financial operations for our Small Business Program. In this role, you will review and correct program transactions, manage payment processing, and ensure system accuracy across our core databases and accounting platforms. This position requires strong technical comfort with legacy systems, high attention to detail, and a professional communication style.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting/finance/business or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commissions. Other relevant experience includes accounts payable/receivable, billing, and/or bank reconciliation experience
Competencies:
- Computer literacy; can navigate online systems used for business operations and use Microsoft Suite, advanced skills in Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks

Benefits Specialist Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing, tracking and processing monthly brokers and General Agent (GA) commissions
- Process commission files monthly by ensuring receipt and correct matching of premium files and associated payments
- Prepare agent commission statements and match up with payment for accuracy
- Research all requests received and communicate resolution within SLA.
- Address inquires via phone or by email (ticketing system) in a timely manner for various external parties including but not limited to brokers, GA’s, carriers, client groups, parent company, etc.
- Transaction Review & Correction: Utilize IBM iSeries (AS400) to review financial data, investigate anomalies, and execute necessary corrections for the Small Business Program.
- System Reconciliation: Review and match transaction reports, bank statements, and credit card logs within QuickBooks to ensure accurate ledger records.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
