Empower Law, PC was founded in 2019 by two former AmLaw 100 equity partners who escaped defense practices to focus on employee rights.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our rapidly growing legal team, which is based in the Los Angeles area. We are a plaintiff's side employment law firm litigating exclusively in California state and federal courts, arbitrations, and limited administrative hearings.
As an Associate Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal support to clients and internal teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while delivering exceptional service. Empower Law, PC offers remote work, a flexible schedule, and incentive compensation in addition an hourly rate to encourage entrepreneurial attorneys to become stakeholders in their cases.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and legal analysis
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Assist in managing client cases a
- Support litigation efforts by preparing discovery requests, analyzing evidence, and coordinating with witnesses and experts
- Manage negotiations to facilitate favorable outcomes for clients in diverse legal matters
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements
- Independent case management skills and the ability to work under limited supervision.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the California state bar is required
- Proven experience or strong interest in employment law
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents
- Strong analytical skills complemented by meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines
- The right candidate will have the ability to take and defend depositions effectively, argue motions and handle court appearances remotely as necessary, and serve as a second or third chair at trial.
