Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in a full-time capacity, working day shifts. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive nursing background, demonstrating expertise across various clinical settings and specialties. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing direct patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication administration techniques.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding management, and specimen collection/processing.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs including acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR/EHR systems while complying with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patient education efforts by explaining procedures, medication regimens, and health coaching strategies to promote optimal recovery and wellness.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license (RN) in the applicable state or jurisdiction with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Proven experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Strong clinical skills encompassing laboratory experience, phlebotomy, IV insertion, ventilator management, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal resuscitation procedures), geriatrics (memory care), and individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Knowledge of nursing documentation standards such as MDS (Minimum Data Set) for long-term care facilities and discharge planning processes.
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or emergency medicine units; critical care or ICU experience highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
