JOB SUMMARY
In order to help students improve their academic progress, the Homeroom Teacher at ASA must utilize the California Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and Social Studies to help students access content, develop an understanding of skills and vocabulary in the content area, and address misconceptions. A teacher at ASA must provide learning opportunities for students through differentiated instruction, authentic assessment, multiple learning opportunities and engaging activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree
3 years teaching experience
Excellent understanding of instructional practices
Virtus Certification (may be completed upon hiring)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
● Knowledge of:
○ California Common Core State Standards
■ ELA
○ ○ California State Standards for Social Studies
○ Current Instructional Practices
○ Use of interactive board
● Skill in:
○ Communication (orally and in writing)
○ Using Google Suite for Education
○ Personal skills to work with youth
○ Effective collaboration
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
● Include but are not limited to:
○ stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 30 pounds; frequently perform tasks requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping, and bending; sit for extended periods of time; perform supervision of students during non-teaching events
