Position Overview
Stella’s on 25th is seeking an experienced and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team, with a primary focus on our sauté station—the busiest and most demanding station on our line.
Our menu is driven by an à la minute cooking style, where dishes are prepared fresh to order. This station is responsible for executing a high volume of sautéed items including pastas, risottos, sauces, daily specials, seared proteins, and reductions, requiring strong technical skills, speed, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute dishes on the sauté station with precision, consistency, and attention to detail
- Prepare all menu items à la minute, ensuring proper timing and coordination with the line
- Cook and finish pastas, risottos, sauces, seared proteins, and daily specials
- Maintain proper portioning, plating, and presentation standards
- Assist with daily prep including chopping, marinating, portioning, and ingredient assembly
- Ensure station is fully stocked and organized before, during, and after service
- Restock ingredients and maintain par levels throughout shifts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and cleaning procedures
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and communication
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and breakdown
- Support overall kitchen operations and jump in where needed
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years experience working on a busy restaurant line (required)
- Strong experience or confidence working the sauté station in a high-volume environment
- Ability to cook multiple dishes simultaneously while maintaining quality and timing
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine, terminology, and cooking techniques (preferred)
- Understanding of sauces, reductions, and proper cooking methods for proteins and pasta
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to stay clean and structured during service
- Proactive mindset—able to anticipate needs and stay productive at all times
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support others
- Strong communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Must be able to handle stress, maintain focus, and perform under high volume
- Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
