One of our clients in the government domain is looking for a Building Maintenance Worker. Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance work of average difficulty and performs related duties as required. Responsibilities include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general mechanical repair work.
Building Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities
Identify maintenance issues and repair or report issues as appropriate. Perform repair work using diagrams, drawings, and maintenance manuals. Operate and utilize assorted hand and power tools, plungers, sewer rodders, drills, skill saws, grinders, and related equipment. Provide direction and oversight to others as needed. Inspect electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, laundry equipment, and food service equipment to determine necessary repairs. Remove and replace defective parts. Perform routine repairs on standard work equipment. Rewire electrical outlets and breaker boxes. Perform routine electrical work, basic carpentry, and minor HVAC repairs. Repair windows, doors, flooring, woodwork, drywall, and other building structures. Perform minor construction, plumbing, landscaping, janitorial, and welding tasks. Review and perform preventative maintenance plans to ensure efficient operation of equipment and building systems. Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure proper working conditions. Communicate with vendors and customers to provide customer service and direct inquiries appropriately. Operate state-issued vehicles such as pickup trucks, golf carts, or other equipment as required. Paint interior and exterior facility surfaces including walls, ceilings, trim, baseboards, and doors. Determine materials, paint quantities, equipment, and tools needed for assignments. Perform restoration and installation work involving caulk, windows, wallpaper, office furniture, and mirrors. Operate machinery to move heavy objects or lift workers for inspection, repair, and painting work. Install drywall, plasterboard, wallboard, windows, doors, frames, flooring, trim, and hardware. Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures. Follow TOSHA safety procedures regarding respirator use, hazardous materials, and waste disposal. Coordinate work assignments with the Facility Supervisor to ensure timely project completion. Schedule project phases to allow proper material application and minimize disruption. Sketch or lay out project information and assist with cost estimates as needed.
Qualifications
Experience equivalent to three years of full-time increasingly skilled labor and trade work. At least two years of experience in building maintenance work.
