Job Summary
The position will report to the Property Administrator and will perform a wide range of cleaning and janitorial services for assigned locations. The tasks may require physical labor and working in different weather conditions, indoor or outdoor, without heating or air conditioning.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of buildings and properties, both inside and outside
- Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning building floors, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, etc.
- Clean and prepare work sites by disposing of waste, removing debris and possible hazards
- Gather and empty trash
- Follow procedures for using chemical and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Safety handles industrial cleaning supplied
- Mix water and detergents or acid in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees
- Duties may also include performing routine maintenance activities, and notifying management of need for repairs
- May be required to order supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Dust, clean, and policy furniture, walls, machines, equipment, and fixtures
- May strip, seal finish, and polish floors
- May steam clean or shampoo carpets
- Operate automobile required to travel to, or to perform, cleaning work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience required
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and power equipment to perform cleaning work
- Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace
- Must be willing and able to respond after hours or on weekends, as needed
- This position requires flexibility in work hours, including weekends, as operational needs require
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit, stand, lay down, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, climb, dig, twist and lean up to 95% of the time
- Must be able to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs or more and operate cleaning power tools and equipment
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, be able to move his/her hands quickly in addition to having multi-limb coordination, which is the ability to work with both arms, both legs or one leg and one arm
