Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled pet groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate is confident working independently and has a strong understanding of professional grooming techniques, breed specific grooming, coat types, and safe animal handling.
Our groomers are responsible for providing high quality grooming services while ensureing the safety, comfort, and well being of every pet in their care. The position also involves communicating with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and providing recommendations based on a pets individual needs.
What You'll Do
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, de-shedding, haircuts, breed specific trims, sanitary trims, paw pad trimming, ear cleaning, and nail clipping/grinding.
- Safely handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments.
- Assess each pets coat and skin condition and communicate any concerns or recommended services during to pet owners.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming area, including properly cleaning and disinfecting toools and equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with owners about grooming preferences, pet care, and maintenance needs.
- Manage grooming appointments efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and attention to detail.
Skills
- Previous professional grooming experience is required, with the ability to complete full service grooms independently.
- Strong knowledge of grooming techniques, breed-specific cuts, and various coat types.
- Proficiency with professional grooming equipment, including clippers, shears, dryers, and nail equipment.
- Confident and compassionate handling of dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and temperament, including nervous or difficult dogs.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and animal well-being.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Grooming certification or formal training preferred; equivalent professional experince will be considered.
