MHPBNC is a small, grassroots business working with health providers in the state of North Carolina. We support mental health providers and their patients, offering billing services, provider credentialing, and practice management support.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant. We are willing to train the right person to become an expert in this area.

Key Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls
- Managing calendars
- Familiarity with the Google Docs platform and workflow
- Various IT tasks including -
- Drafting word documents for various internal and external purposes
- Maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
- Organising staff meetings and taking minutes.
- Taking Patient Payments
- Managing a busy email inbox effectively. This task involves keeping on top of incoming enquiries and correspondence, as well as sending and composing emails to -
- Patients
- Providers
- Partner organisations; including, but not limited to - our clients, third party insurance companies, and so on.
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Willingness to learn on the role
- Excellent communication and telephone manner, including -
- The ability to communicate effectively with members of vulnerable groups over the phone and via. email.
- Professional communication with partner organisations and maintaining relationships with providers, clients and external agencies.
- Competency with IT, in particular using Google Docs.
- Experience with billing platforms such as Simple Practice and Dr Chrono.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving abilities, organization skills, attention to detail, and an empathetic communication style when speaking with clients experiencing mental health challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Administrative qualification(s) and/or evidence of robust administrative work experience
- Past experience with the landscape of medical billing in the state of North Carolina
