Position Summary
The Bakery & La Niña Ice Cream Operations Specialist is responsible for supervising and overseeing bakery operations across all Talpa store locations, as well as ensuring brand and operational excellence across La Niña Ice Cream shops located inside Talpa grocery stores. This role plays a key leadership function by ensuring strict adherence to SOPs, recipes, quality standards, and customer service expectations, while also training and developing store leadership and associates through the Talpa Academy.
Key Responsibilities
Bakery Operations

Supervise and oversee bakery operations across all Talpa store locations.

Ensure all bakery associates follow established SOPs, recipes, food safety standards, and daily operational procedures.

Maintain consistency in product quality, presentation, and customer service across all stores.

Conduct routine audits and operational evaluations to ensure compliance.

Support store managers in resolving operational challenges and improving efficiency.
La Niña Ice Cream Operations

Oversee operations for 7 La Niña Ice Cream shop locations housed within Talpa grocery stores.

Ensure all associates strictly follow La Niña brand standards, SOPs, recipes, and operational guidelines.

Monitor product preparation, portion control, cleanliness, and guest experience to protect brand integrity.

Partner closely with store leadership to maintain a consistent La Niña customer experience across all locations.
Training & Development

Serve as a lead trainer for new managers and key associates.

Teach bakery and La Niña Ice Cream operational courses as part of the Talpa Academy training program.

Develop hands-on training sessions covering recipes, measurements, SOP compliance, customer service, and daily execution.

Coach managers and associates to improve performance, accountability, and leadership capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (required).

Food Industry Experience: Prior experience in bakery, or food service operations.

Strong understanding of food preparation, measurements, recipes, and production consistency.

Experience working with and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and influence teams.

Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.

Commitment to food safety, quality control, and customer service excellence.
Preferred Skills

Multi-location or district-level food service experience.
-
Training or instructional experience in a retail or foodservice setting.

Knowledge of grocery store bakery operations and branded food concepts.
