Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Valcom Paging System Installation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex paging and communication systems across various client sites. Your expertise in electrical wiring, system design, and security integration will ensure seamless operation of paging systems, alarm interfaces, CCTV, sensors, and access control devices. Responsibilities
- Install and configure Valcom paging systems along with associated security components such as alarm & access control systems, CCTV cameras, sensors, and alarm interfaces.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, electrical blueprints, and system diagrams to ensure accurate installation and integration of low-voltage electrical wiring and cabling.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using hand tools, power tools, remote access software, and technical troubleshooting support to resolve system malfunctions efficiently.
- Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper operation of paging networks, surveillance cameras, door security systems, and intercoms.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on electrical security systems while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs; provide technical guidance on system design modifications or enhancements.
- Document installation procedures, system configurations, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting steps accurately for future reference.
- Provide end user training as needed.
- Support sales efforts by explaining system features to customers and assisting with alarm system sales initiatives when needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician in electrical security system installation or related field service roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience working with low-voltage electrical systems including wiring, cabling, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV surveillance equipment, and alarm & access control systems.
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings such as schematics and blueprints for electrical systems installation.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electronic equipment issues efficiently using various tools and software solutions.
- Knowledge of NEC standards related to low-voltage wiring and electrical safety practices.
- Experience working with remote access software for system diagnostics or updates is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients at all levels of understanding.
Pay is based on experience with Valcom (or equal) products and applicable industry knowledge.
