American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a skilled nursing facility long-term care unit, requiring Meditech charting experience and comfort working independently on night shifts.

Work in a short-stay long-term care unit within a skilled nursing facility
-
Patient population primarily recovering from medical illness, debility, or surgery
-
Patient ratio of approximately 1:13
-
Uses Meditech charting system
-
Scheduled for 3x12-hour night shifts (7p-7a)
-
May float to the Rehab Unit as needed

Sole LPN on duty during shift, with other nursing staff available within the building
-
Works alongside CNA support
-
Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of LPN experience preferred
-
Prior charge nurse experience preferred
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Meditech charting system experience required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Must be comfortable working independently as the sole LPN on duty
-
Fit testing required, including shaving facial hair unless an approved medical exemption is obtained prior to start

Navy blue scrub color required
-
Responsibilities include patient admissions, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter insertion, and monitoring of vital signs and patient status changes

Skilled in managing various medication classes including antihypertensives, insulin, and antipsychotics
-
Experienced in cardiac monitoring, EKG/ECG, and emergency response including CPR
-
Performs skin and wound care including simple dressing changes and wound vac management
-
Handles gastrointestinal care including colostomy/ileostomy management
-
Provides respiratory support including oxygen administration and nasal cannula use
-
First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
-
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at the facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
-
RTO must be disclosed prior to assignment confirmation, with expectations to work at least one holiday if one or more fall during the assignment

Zero-tolerance policy for THC use, including medical marijuana cards
-
Drug screening required both during compliance and again on day one
