Job Summary
Elliott County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Girls Basketball Coach. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball, excellent leadership skills, and a desire to mentor young athletes both on and off the court.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and training programs that enhance the skills and performance of student-athletes.
- Conduct regular team practices and workouts, ensuring a focus on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the girls basketball program, including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among players.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between academics and athletics.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support the overall athletic program and school community.
- Attend and participate in coaching clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and trends.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by the school, district, and governing athletic associations.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to school district policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary for practices and games.
