Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using aseptic techniques
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining strict infection control standards and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding
- Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing questions about dental terminology or treatment plans
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records in Epic or other systems
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all clinical areas meet safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry
- Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during various dental procedures including X-ray imaging and medical imaging techniques
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document patient information
- Experience working with pediatric patients and supporting pediatric dentistry treatments is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team including dental receptionists and specialists
