Full-Time Cleaner – 2nd Shift
Starting July 1, 2026
The Cooperstown Central School District has an opening for a full-time, 12-month 2nd Shift Cleaner position. Starting pay is$20.74 per hour plus benefits, in accordance with the Service Unit Contract.
This position involves responsibility for building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks to help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy school environment. Cleaning duties are performed according to established procedures, while maintenance tasks are completed under direct supervision or specific instruction.
Responsibilities Include:
- Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other school facilities
- Operating cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Assisting with minor maintenance and grounds work as needed
- Supporting seasonal duties such as snow removal and outdoor upkeep
Qualifications:
Candidates should have:
- Working knowledge of common cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, floor buffers, mowers, trimmers, and snow blowers
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks involving bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion
- Willingness to work in environments involving dust, dirt, grease, grime, and odors
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Physical condition appropriate for the demands of the position
Pay: From $20.74 per hour
