American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Critical Care/ICU position in the Chicagoland area, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Position is based in an acute care hospital ICU setting
-
Float requirement between ICU and Telemetry units
-
Night shift schedule: 7pm–7:30am (19:00–07:30)
-
No on-call requirements

13-week contract
-
Active IL RN license required
-
Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
-
Defensive/Crisis Intervention (DCI/BVP) certification required for Workplace Violence Prevention — can be completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, or the free CDC resource

Minimum 1 year of staff RN experience in an acute care hospital critical care/ICU setting

Proficiency in cardiac strip interpretation and titration of drips required

Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred

DOB and SSN required for consideration

Responsible for delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, and abnormal findings

Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care

COVID vaccination and boosters preferred
