Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Companion to provide personalized support and assistance to adults in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients, fostering a positive and engaging environment
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately and promptly
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring safety during meal preparation
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning duties to promote hygiene and comfort
- Assist with patient monitoring, including tracking progress and updating care plans as needed for individuals with dementia, autism, or other disabilities
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and medication administration procedures
- Hands-on experience with patient care activities such as vital signs measurement, manual handling, and assisting with ADLs
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism or other disabilities that require tailored support strategies
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility assistance
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is desirable to respond effectively during emergencies
