Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess collision damage and mechanical issues using computer-aided estimating software in accordance with insurance guidelines.
- Prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring transparency for customers and insurance companies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to review repair plans, prioritize work orders, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify upselling opportunities such as additional services like oil changes, tire rotations, or suspension repairs to increase shop revenue.
- Manage client communication throughout the repair process, updating customers on progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, repairs, parts orders, and client interactions to ensure smooth workflow and accountability.
Skills
- Proven experience in auto estimating using industry-standard software tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with dealership operations and auto service management practices.
- Ability to identify additional repair needs such as transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts, alignment, suspension components, air brakes, diesel engines, or tire services.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Experience in upselling services like oil changes or transmission repairs to enhance revenue streams.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto body repair procedures and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
- Cash handling skills for processing payments accurately at the point of sale.
