Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals in need, could include bathing, dressing, and grooming depending on each member's needs.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are followed.
- Administer first aid and medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Implement behavior management techniques to support individuals with autism or other behavioral challenges.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for individuals, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Document and maintain accurate records of care provided, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with Behavior Analyst to implement behavior plans and monitor progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving, serving members with IDD or related field helps.
- Knowledge of child care practices and techniques is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with special needs or behavioral challenges.
