Our talented Behavior Consultants and therapists provide individualized programs, social language and behavior facilitation and training to people with special needs using evidence-based strategies and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis using a collaborative and integrated approach that typically includes teachers, parents, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists and MFT’s.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
P.L.A.Y. is looking for talented, experienced individuals interested in working 1:1 with children diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Our therapists work under our trained and experienced Behavior Consultants as part of a team, providing direct therapy to the individual in schools, in-home and community settings. Part of the collaborative and integrated team experience is working with parents and caregivers, in order to provide them with strategies to support their children and promote on-going progress.
Service hours for in home programs are primarily 2-4hour shifts, between 10-2pm and 3-6pm. School program positions are school based hours.
EDUCATION:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is required (degree in psychology, special education or related field preferred)
Background and coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
RBT certification is a PLUS
Experience:
Minimum of 1- 2 years working with children with autism and/or other special needs IN AN ABA IN-HOME INTENSIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM and/or school setting is required.
To be successful in this work you will need the ability to multi-task, have patience, take pride in slow and steady progress in clients as well as rapid progress that requires innovative, creative yet scientific based and independent thinking, planning and initiative.
You will also be required and expected to manage behavior problems in a positive, yet prescribed manner as well as:
*Maintain professional conduct across client’s homes and community settings, communicate confidentially and professionally with behavior analysts, teachers, parents and other team members
*Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for each client you work with as well as keep them motivated and engaged to learn
*Implement curriculum that is based in ABA principles designed to increase pre-academic, attention, academic, communication, social and play skills.
*Collect data and track client’s progress over time
*Participate in team meetings with Behavior Analysts, parents, and other professional team members
Other Requirements:
Reliable source of transportation is required along with proof of insurance and valid driver’s license.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States of America
Compensation: $25-30/hr (based on experience)– an average of 10-15hr/week P/T part time hourly position.
