RATE OF PAY:
$26.00 per hour
JOB FUNCTION:
The Education Manager will support the Education/Special Services/Early Head Start Coordinator to ensure meeting or exceeding the Performance Standards in accordance with Child Development Philosophy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with planning, coordination and implementation of ongoing recruitment of children.
- Organizes, directs and monitors transition activities between Child Development Centers and Local Education Association.
- Responsible for annual review and updating of functional plan in the area of transition.
- Provides one on one intervention with children with behavioral concerns.
- Works with Policy Council Personnel Committee in selection of component personnel and consultants.
- Trains, supervises all personnel in Education Services, delegating responsibility when appropriate.
- Completes accurate performance evaluations of appropriate personnel.
- Observes center operation regularly to assess appropriate procedures.
- Helps managers clarify goals for individual needs.
- Assists in development of the Grant Application.
- Directs, develops and implements Education/Special services/Early Head Start Component Plan.
- Schedules educational training acts as program liaison.
- Assess equipment and material needs.
- Coordinates purchasing of classroom equipment and materials
- Participates in annual program self-assessment.
- Obtains and reports program In-Kind.
- Adheres to Agency Personnel Procedures.
- Understands and supports program School Readiness goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates commitment to mission, values and policies in the performance of daily duties.
- Understands and supports MVCAA, Inc. Supervision of Children policy.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other duties as requested by the Director or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Early Childhood Education or a BS with coursework that is equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education and experience working with pre-school age children, required.
- Knowledge of community agencies and resources.
- Management / Supervisory experience.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel to all Head Start sites, trainings, home visits, etc. as necessary and requested.
- Background check, fingerprint screen and annual physical and TB.
- Ability to relate to people from varied backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills.
