Job Description:
We currently have an exciting opportunity, in Houston Tx, for a position on our Pilot team. VantageCore is seeking a UAS Pilot candidate who is looking to grow-expand their knowledge in Critical Infrastructure surveying and inspection.
This Work is ONLY IN HOUSTON TX, and surrounding areas. occasional drives up to 2 hours away.
This position involves working primarily outdoors In hot and cold weather conditions. And standing for extended periods.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of our projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent piloting skills, and the ability to follow specific capture profiles.
Under general direction, this position is responsible for coordinating ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution, and Serves as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate UAS in compliance with FAA Part 107 regulations.
- Plan and execute aerial mapping missions for photogrammetry, and LiDAR.
- Perform basic post-processing and quality control on collected data.
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command and/or Visual Observer of the SUAS.
- Facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis.
- Coordinate logistics, FAA airspace approvals, and maintenance.
- Plan and execute missions with various flight control software (DJI, Litchi, Pix4DCapture, Autopilot, Mission Planner etc.)
- Process, check, and Upload captured data to the appropriate Client platform
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and manage field logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Proven experience in operating drones for commercial purposes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of FAA regulations and airspace requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Requirements
- Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Capability to remain active and mobile for extended durations
- (Preffered) willing to work long working days, and occasional weekend and holiday shifts.
- Laptop (portable)
- Dji M3e or Dji M4 (We may rent a drone to you if needed)
- 2-3 years Drone experience preferred.
Benefits & Compensation
- This role is compensated on a production basis and is not hourly or salaried.
- Pilots are paid based on completed surveys and are expected to meet a monthly survey quota.
- Typical earnings for this position range from $1,500 - $2,500/ Week depending on production
