Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Helper to assist skilled carpenters and construction professionals in a dynamic residential construction environment. Duties
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
- Support framing, siding, door hanging, flooring installation, tile laying, and trim carpentry tasks under supervision.
- Help interpret construction plans and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Prepare work sites by cleaning, organizing materials, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical labor required for concrete forming, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration projects.
- Operate woodworking machines and hand tools safely while adhering to all power tool safety protocols.
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, fixture installation, caulking, mold remediation, and other restoration activities as needed.
- Support the team in interpreting technical drawings and construction plans for various projects including metal stud framing and remodeling.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following safety guidelines at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or carpentry is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and construction site safety is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of residential carpentry techniques such as door hanging, siding installation, flooring installation, tile laying, trim carpentry, framing, and drywall finishing is advantageous.
- Experience with restoration projects including mold remediation, water damage restoration, plastering, stucco application, and rebar installation will be considered a strong asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail on various construction tasks is essential.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills in the construction industry will help you succeed in this role.
