Store Manager

Are you a motivated retail leader who enjoys merchandising, building a great team, and creating an outstanding shopping experience? We're looking for a full-time Store Manager to join and strengthen our current management team, to help lead one of our unique gift and clothing stores in the Myrtle Beach area.
We're looking for someone who will take ownership of their store, lead by example, build a strong staff, and provide every customer with a great shopping experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a sales-driven manager. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a bi-weekly commission based on total store sales, giving you the opportunity to earn more as your store succeeds.
Our company operates nine retail stores, located at the Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing shopping centers, each with its own unique theme, merchandise, music, and atmosphere. During the interview process, we'll discuss which location would be the best fit based on your experience and personality as well as our operational needs. While each store has its own identity, all managers share the same core responsibilities and expectations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring it is fully staffed, open, and operating seven days a week according to the shopping center's operating hours (or additional hours as required).
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a strong team of employees.
- Lead by example by providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor, stockroom, and employee areas.
- Merchandise products to maximize visual appeal and drive sales.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.
- Meet sales goals while identifying opportunities to increase sales and improve store performance.
- Follow all company policies and procedures established by the Owner, General Manager, and Operations Manager.
- Motivate employees, provide ongoing coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Handle customer concerns and employee issues professionally and effectively.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, cash handling, scheduling, and other daily operational responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of verifiable retail management or supervisory experience.
- Minimum of two years of verifiable cash-handling experience.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with retail merchandising is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with upper management.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40+ hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb step stools or ladders and kneel or squat when stocking or merchandising merchandise.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
