ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grading and maintaining road right-of-ways
- Digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and shells or gravel, using pick and shovel
- Lifting, carrying, and holding building materials, tools, and supplies
- Cleaning tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
- Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand-tools
- Joining, wrapping, and sealing sections of pipe
- Performing a variety of routine, machine tasks
- Performing a variety of other daily routine duties, weed-eater, chain saw, asphalt packer, push or riding mowers
- Mix chemicals using ratio chart, apply safety gear use
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
- A working knowledge of the use of hand tools in construction and maintenance work
- Ability to follow directions in performing assigned tasks
- Ability to get along well with others and good physical condition
- Be familiar with the operation of some heavy equipment and have unlimited skills to operate this machinery if necessary
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Some general experience in performing non technical tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, grounds, buildings, sewer and water systems, or related work is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
- Maintain valid driver’s license
