Job Overview
Barons Creek Vineyards is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and self-motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and has excellent attention to detail.
Our kitchen offers a simple food menu that must be prepared consistently, efficiently, and with care. Previous professional kitchen or food-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare charcuterie boards, pizzas, and other small bites under the direction of the manager
- Follow established recipes, presentation standards, and food-safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen
- Assist with kitchen inventory and communicate supply needs to ensure all ingredients and supplies are available when needed
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Bus tables and run food as needed
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and tasting-room teams
- Complete additional kitchen and service-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food-service environment is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food preparation methods and food-safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take direction
- Customer-service mindset with a focus on creating an excellent guest experience
- Familiarity with restaurant, winery, or wine-bar operations is a plus
- Current ServSafe certification is a plus
Schedule and Availability
This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. The initial schedule is expected to include shifts on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
A positive attitude, dependability, and a strong commitment to cleanliness are essential for success in this role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
